Why do I have to become a community member to buy tickets?
We prioritize safer spaces on our dance floors and ask all Research attendees to share that commitment. To support this, we have established Community Guidelines. Violations may result in you and any guest you bring being banned from future Research events.
What are the community guidelines?
These are behaviors that are not allowed…
- Non-Consensual Touching
- Racist, Homophobic, Transphobic, Sexist or other Discriminatory Language
- Leering / Gawking / Creepy Staring
- No weapons or violence or any type of threatening behavior
- Ignoring signage regarding restricted areas + vandalizing the space.
Also...
- Please be conscious of other people's space.
- Pace yourself and know your limits. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Stay hydrated.
- For the sake of the vibe, don't use your phone or take pictures on/around the dance floor. Try to keep chatter to a minimum on the dance floor as well. There are plenty of places to hang out and chat.
- If you think it's kosher to ask the DJ for a song request, you're in the wrong place.
- Leave glow toys at home. This happened once, so that's why we're putting it down here.
Why can’t I buy tickets, even after I've logged in?
Your account isn't recognized as belonging to a Research community member. Please submit a membership request to complete the process. If you've previously attended as the guest of a member, then complete a membership request and note the event you attended. This helps us review your request more efficiently.
Research is sold out. How can I still go?
Sign up for the event waitlist via the event page. We know it’s frustrating to be approved for membership after tickets sell out. Once you’re approved, you’ll be able to purchase tickets immediately for future events. Note that waitlist access is limited to approved community members.
How many friends can I bring?
Each account can only purchase two tickets per event. If you have additional friends who are interested in attending, have them submit a membership request and to mention your name/email as their member reference. Please note, if you bring a guest that doesn't abide by our safer space policy, you may be banned from attending Research.
How much are tickets?
The most affluent 20% of Seattle households — roughly 69,000 of the city’s 344,600 households — had an average income of $345,000 in 2020. The least affluent 69,000 households averaged about $18,800 — an extremely small amount in a city with one of the highest costs of living."

Although our events operate on thin margins, we don’t believe anyone should be excluded for lack of funds. Tickets are tiered, typically ranging from $25–$40. If you’re able, consider leaving a tip at checkout.
Is the price out of your budget? Email us at tickets@researchseattle.com with your full name, whether you need 1 or 2 tickets, and how much you'd be able to pay.
Ticket Transfers/Refunds
Refunds aren’t guaranteed. Can’t attend? Transfer your ticket to an approved Research member or waitlist (for potential) resale by 8 PM on the day of the event.
